Installation of LED traffic signals/study of solar-powered streetlights: $250,000. Incentives for adding hybrid vehicles to the county fleet: $250,000.

Cedar Hills goes green with Blue Sky program

"The city of 8,000-plus, east of Highland and Alpine at the mouth of American Fork Canyon, became the first Utah County city to commit to renewable energy efforts through Rocky Mountain Power's Blue Sky program. The city bought enough blocks of renewable energy to power 100 percent of its city facilities. Energy experts who have calculated the state's renewable energy potential figure there are enough geothermal and wind resources to supply about 9.8 million people at today's national consumption levels.
