Student Campus Garden Project

Vision

SEED (Sustainable Environments and Ecological Design) and the Office of Sustainability seek to learn from patterns in nature to grow more sustainable food producing gardens on campus.

Goals:

  • Teach agro-ecology and link coursework with hands-on food production
  • Explore potential for urban agriculture on campus
  • Provide opportunities for students to grow fresh food for the community. 
  • Foster a sense of community by building relationships at gardening activities. 

 

What is Organic Gardening?

  • Growing plants without degrading biological systems or using industrial chemical inputs
  • Promoting biological diversity, building healthy soil with compost,  learning from patterns in nature and closing waste loops.
