What happened at the University of Utah?
A coalition of students, staff, faculty and community groups have joined together to engage Utah citizens in events and activities that focus on solutions to global warming. From both political and faith discussions of global warming to a teach-in for students, there is a broad range of activities during the month of January that are all free and open to public. Please join the discussion!
U of U Teach-InAbout the Teach-in at the UDuring the week of Jan. 31st, University of Utah students are urging faculty to take 30-50 minutes to connect their course content to global climate change. What this could mean for faculty is taking at least 10 minutes relating their discipline to climate change and then lead a half an hour discussion among students. Faculty do not have to be climate change experts to participate, nor invest heavily in preparation. Participation in the event is optional. Can't fit it in your syllabus during that week?Consider offering extra credit or encouraging students to attend events and lectures in January at the University of Utah. Instructor ResourcesPresentation materials, video clips, co-instructors, instructor workshop, pool of on-campus climate change experts, Bioneers Conference DVD's, and web links. More...
