The University of Utah Farmer’s Market is currently seeking food and/or art vendors for the 2008 season! We are very excited to introduce this new market which will enable students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community to purchase fresh, healthy, local produce and unique arts and crafts where they live, work and study.
When and Where
The market will be held on Thursday’s from 10am – 2pm and will begin on August 28th and run until October 2nd, adequately filling a need for weekday sales that is currently lacking in Salt Lake City. These dates coincide with the beginning of the new school semester and the beginning of Fall Break, which will afford the maximum number of students, employees and other potential customers.
Why
The U of U Farmer’s Market is a great way to enhance a sense of community among those on campus as well as invite the broader community at large, providing a great venue for vendors to access a large population that is somewhat isolated from shops in close proximity. The University of Utah has roughly 21,000 employees and roughly 28,000 students, offering vendors access to a fairly steady customer base that places a high value on healthy produce and supporting local economies.
