Office of Sustainability Fellow

Lindsay Nibley Clark, BA BS

Lindsay recently completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Utah with degrees in French, Environmental Studies and Urban Planning. During her time at the University, her passion for gardening initiated her involvement at the Lowell Bennion Community Service Center where she later became a co-founder with Alexandra Parvaz of the SEED group, Sustainable Environments and Ecological Design. She was the Director during the 2006-2007 academic year and helped to establish the Office of Sustainability by organizing the SEED group’s Sustainable Campus Initiative. The Initiative facilitated a dialogue about sustainability at the University of Utah where university citizens were given the opportunity to envision a sustainable campus environment.  As the SEED Director, Lindsay facilitated a forum series during the year and a co-sponsored a Regional Earth Day Conference with Americans for Informed Democracy.  The result of these efforts was the formation of a Sustainability Task force that proposed the creation of an Office of Sustainability, which was officially launched in July of 2007.   Lindsay is now working as a Barbara L. Tanner Fellow for the Office of Sustainability and is actively developing the Office as well as serving as a link to student organizations such as SEED and the Associated Students of the University of Utah, where she is an Associate Director for the Sustainability Board.
