Utah Transit Authority (UTA) Ed Pass
Did you know?
The UTA Ed Pass Program has been so successful that it has been expanded to other universities along the Wasatch Front. Programs are now in place at Brigham Young University, Weber State University, Utah Valley State College, Westminster College, and Salt Lake Community College.
How it works
The Ed Pass is a UTA transit pass available to eligible students, faculty, and staff and it allows them to ride light rail or buses for free. It is funded through student and employee transportation and has greatly increased the usage of mass transit to and from the University of Utah.
Results
Since it was launched in September 1991 daily ridership of mass transit increased from 2,000 in 1991 to more than 6,000 by 1999.
